Hello! Now I'm gonna tell you about my teaching experience.
Few weeks ago, Mrs. Agnes gave Eleven Science class a task to teach
History with an interesting way. She asked us to make a group consists
of two, and I decided to be in a group with Marcelina Yang.
At first, I'm so confused what to do first. I know teaching isn't easy,
especially teaching History. History is a boring lesson for me and most
of the students don't like it.
After discussing, Marcelina and I decided to use presentation method
because we think it will be more interesting than the students listening
to us speaking. We can show the pictures and videos on presentation.
After that, we made a plan about playing a game to make the students
remember the lesson more.
We decided to choose Korean War as our topic, because Marcelina Yang
loves Korea so much and she's really interested in Korea. Korean War is a
part of the Cold War.
The day for us to teach came, and I was so nervous. I was afraid if
there would be awkward moments in our class and my friends couldn't
understand about the things I would explain.
First, Marcelina Yang told the causes and the beginning of Korean War.
Then I explained the next things which were happened in the war. One of
my friend asked me about someone that I'd mentioned before, but I
couldn't answer it. Then I kept explaining the things, but sadly my
friends didn't pay attention and they were talking to each other. Mrs.
Agnes, which was in the class, stopped me because she said that if she
let me keep going, it would be worse. The class would be noisier and my
friends would be more bored. She asked Marcelina and I to teach the
lesson once again.
I was really shocked and sad at the same time. But I knew, it was my
fault because I didn't teach them about the Korean War in interesting
way and I didn't understand the lesson well. I think it was because I
didn't prepare it very well.
Learning from our mistake, Marcelina and I prepared the lesson better.
We learned about every single things which was on our presentation.
When Mrs. Agnes told us about who needs to take the remedial, she didn't
mention my name and Marcelina. We were shocked, so we asked Mrs. Agnes.
She said that we didn't need to take the remedial test. I was so happy
at that time.
